The Wiire is celebrating their new design with a scavenger hunt of sorts. The prize is a Sam & Max Season One for Wii, a 2-Disc Season One Soundtrack, and a paperback copy of Surfin’ the Highway. The context ends November 21, so enter today!
Today only, get two Wii Frontman Wireless Guitars for $20 when you buy Guitar Hero Aerosmith or Guitar Hero 3 for Wii. For only about $55, you can get started with the Guitar Hero series on the Wii.
Use your Wii to go offroad racing in 18 customizable Jeep vehicles on 35 tracks in Jeep Thrills, on sale today for $9.98.
Suck less power, that is. According to a new report, video game systems waste $1 billion in energy each year. When on, the Playstation 3 consumes 150 watts and the Xbox 360 consumes 119 watts. The Nintendo Wii, though, uses under 20 watts when on. The article recommends turning off any systems when not in use, or they can consume as much as power (and your dollars) as two refrigerators each year.
We’ve made a big update to our Release Dates page, adding a ton of upcoming titles for December and January. Are there any you’re looking forward to?
Two years ago today, November 19, 2006, the Wii was released in the United States. Did you get yours on the first day?
After PETA complaints about recipes featured in a Cooking Mama flash game, the Mama has responded:
“I would never put rat in my Ratatouille,” said a feisty Mama while beating some eggs. “Like any accomplished cook, I create my recipes to appeal to a broad range of tastes and preferences. My only goal is to ensure you leave the table well fed.”
Cooking Mama World Kitchen released this week, and features 25 vegetarian-friendly recipes.
Today only, buy two games from the list on Amazon, and you’ll receive $25 off a future game purchase. Add three games and get a $50 future savings. Some of the listed games are new releases, including: Animal Crossing: City Folk, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and Wii Music.
I found a trailer for NPPL Championship Paintball 2009, which is released today. Check it out, AFTER you watch the video, of course!
You might have seen commercials for Animal Crossing: City Folk showing off the new Wii Speak. So what is the Wii Speak? It’s essentially a USB microphone that connects to your Wii.
A Wii Speak Channel will be launching in December, which will allow you to talk to other Wii Speak users. Your Mii will lip sync to your spoken words. You can also chat with users in Animal Crossing: City Folk and The Conduit.
One complaint circling the Internet about the Wii Speak is its requirement for an unlock code to use. The code is included in the Wii Speak package. What this means is that you won’t be able to resell it or give it to a friend if you don’t like it, since the code will already be used.
The Wii Speak is out now. Will you be getting one?
Amazon has the Rock Band set on sale for $99.99. The set includes the guitar, drums, microphone, USB hub, and game.
Wii Paintball? What a novel idea!
This game releases on November 17 (WHICH IS TODAY) according to Amazon, who offers it up for pre-order. I found a review here from Destructoid – make your own opinions, of course!

Trauma Center: New Blood is one of my favorite Wii games and now it is easy to make it yours thanks to Amazon’s low $19.96 price. Looks like everyone I know with a Wii is getting this game for Christmas.
Have you heard of any of the SKATE IT! games? Skate It! for Wii is out right now, but the trailer below is for the soon-to-be-released Skate It! Hall of Meat – releasing on November 19.
NYKO’s Wireless Sensor Bar, the one that got such great reviews, is on sale at Amazon right now. Amazon has it for $15.99. Our original sensor bar died months ago, and we were forced to get a replacement, so we opted for this one. It has increased the distance you can play from the TV by about 15 feet!
Check out this trailer from Gametrailers.com for the new Quantum of Solace for Wii (and a bunch of other platforms)!
I was browsing around today, and I noticed that Wii Music was out and in full strength. Have you played this? What’s it like? Is it fun? Please post in the comments!
The good folks over at PopSci posted an article about the insides of a Wii console. Check it out, it’s great!

Amazon has Super Mario Galaxy marked down for $36.99. If you’ve not ever played this, you’re really missing out. FInishing this game is one heck of a rewarding thing!
If you have time to watch a 9 minute video, watch the one below. If not, just watch the trailer for Super Mario Galaxy below it.
