Samba De Amigo

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

On September 23rd, we’re all going to be exposed to a new Sega title for Wii, which seems to be a la DDR, Guitar Hero, and al of those games that we love to play that follow patterns (or Tap, Tap, Revenge for the iPhone users out there).  This one is different in the fact that you’ll be shaking your wiimote and nunchuk like maracas, because this is a maraca-shaking game.  If you’re into reality maracas-shaking, get a pair. Yep, they’re available for pre-order, with the game.

Samba De Amigo has a pretty long list of tunes to shake shake shake along with, and with downloadable content, you’ll be shaking yourself into the ER.

Wii Accessories from CTA Digital

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

A while ago, I posted a link to accessories on Amazon by Nyko; equally fruitful is a search for accessories by CTA Digital, a company making all kinds of crazy accessories for your Wii play.

Here’s a small selection of their offerings:

The Wii Shot Gun

Wii Grand Slam Sports Pack

Wii 9-in-1 Sports Pack

Wii Karaoke Microphone

There are several pages of accessories listed – a word to the wise though, always read ratings, even if you don’t take other people’s word for it.  Remember, caveat emptor!

For Pre-Order: The Wii Shot Gun.

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Looks like a single shot 12 gauge…

The Wii Shot Gun – a pre-order for an accessory!
Now that’s just some serious gaming.

Go get yours now.

Wii Boxing Gloves?

Friday, July 4th, 2008

I was looking around for interesting accessories this morning on some kind of rant, and I came across the Wii Boxing Gloves accessory.  This is an offering from CTA Digital.

Hmm.  Anyone have these and want to write a review?  Pick a pair up here.  They’re about $20.

Mario Kart Congratulatory Photo

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

For those of you who haven’t rocked out at least one level’s worth of races on Mario Kart Wii, I wanted to fill you in on what happens when you successfully place and complete a race class…

You get a congratulatory photo taken with your Mii, Mario, and the Princess!  HA!

Amazon has the Wii Wheels for ten bucks!  Check it out!

Lightning Deal: Wii Fit Balance Board Mat

Tuesday, July 1st, 2008

The Wii Fit Balance Board Mat by CTA will be featured in today’s Amazon Lightning Deals from Noon to 4pm central time. The price will change during that time, so don’t buy it yet!

Solid Black Silicone Case for Wiimote and Nunchuk

Monday, June 30th, 2008

I just found this pair of covers for your Wiimote and Nunchuk – it’s a black silicone cover that is a little more sleek than the original covers that come with the wiimote.  I kind of like the padding that the original silicone cover has around the front – it’s a pretty thick padding.  These covers don’t seem to have that, but they are only a buck-39.

That’s right – $1.39.  A dollar and thirty-nine cents.

Holy OCD, Batman! There are FIVE COLORS of Wii Glo Sword.

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

In case you can’t decide on which color of 30 dollar Wii Glo Sword accessory to choose, there are FIVE COLORS. Sheesh.

Well, hey – to each his or her own, in five colors. But they’re still 30 bucks a pop.

NYKO’s Classic Controller Grip for Wii

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

I’m a pretty big fan of Nyko’s accessory line for Wii. I just ran across another one from Nyko that I have to pick up; if you’re a fan of using the Classic Controller

for Wii – for all of those N64 and GameCube games you can’t let go of, like Star Tropics for me – then check out the Classic Controller Grip for the controller and wiimote.

The Classic Controller Grip by Nyko wraps around the classic controller (as you have probably noticed, it’s not so easy to hold on to), and attaches to the Wiimote in order to facilitate faster playing.  But really – as much as I love efficiency, scheduling, and all of that – if the reason for buying the Classic Controller Grip is to save time on playing games, then it might be time to clear up some time on your schedule.

Check it out!  It’s ten bucks.  Barely event he cost of eating at McD’s.

The Rock Band Game and Accessories Super-Post

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

I went looking for some Rock Band accessories links last night, and I figured that it was time for someone to do an all-inclusive post of the gear available for Rock Band for Wii.

It’s time for that post.

There is, of course, the Rock Band for Wii Special Edition – including the guitar controller, drum controller, microphone, USB Hub and game software.  This seems to be a pretty big seller right now.  You can also purchase just the game disc as well.

The Rock Band Track Pack, Vol. 1 is available for pre-order, to be released on July 15.  This includes:

  • 30 Seconds to Mars – The Kill
  • All-American Rejects – Move Along
  • Blink-182 – All the Small Things
  • Boston – More Than a Feeling
  • David Bowie – Moonage Daydream
  • Faith No More – We Care a Lot
  • Grateful Dead – Truckin’
  • Hives – Die, All Right!
  • Kiss – Calling Dr. Love
  • Lynyrd Skynyrd – Gimme Three Steps
  • Nine Inch Nails – March of the Pigs
  • Oasis – Live Forever
  • Paramore – Crushcrushcrush
  • The Police – Synchronicity II
  • Queens of the Stone Age – Little Sister
  • The Ramones – Teenage Lobotomy
  • Smashing Pumpkins – Siva
  • Stone Temple Pilots – Interstate Love Song
  • Weezer – Buddy Holly
  • Wolfmother – Joker & The Thief

You’re also going to need to know about the game accessories and must-haves:

The Rock Band for Wii Drumkit

The Rock Band for Wii Guitar Controller – remember, the Rock Band and Guitar Hero controllers are NOT – I repeat, NOT COMPATIBLE.

The Rock Band for Wii Microphone – These are from Logitech, and IMHO they have THE BEST accessories out there.  Logitech’s Playstation 2 wireless controllers are the finest I have had the pleasure of using…  and funny enough, in writing this article, I just discovered that they’re ten dollars off right noe.  SO if you also appreciate PS2, go get these.  I highly recommend it.  I have had mine for two years, and they’re still solid.  I am assuming that their Wii Microphone will hold up to the same scrutiny.

Rock Band for Wii – Light-Up Drumsticks!  In Blue or Red.

3-in-1 Rock Band/Guitar Hero Kit – this accessory has a gig bag for your guitars (with lots of pockets), a guitar controller strap, and a guitar stand.  It’s good for your Wii Rock Band OR your Wii Guitar Hero pleasure.

The Rock Stand – a 2-guitar controller stand for Rock Band for Wii or Guitar Hero for Wii.  You can also use this for controllers for PS2, PS3, and XBox, but WeKnowWii here, so you can imagine which we’re gonna use it for…

For you roadies out there:  The Rock Icon guitar case.  This case is an aluminum road case for your Rock Band or Guitar Hero guitar controllers, your came console, games, cables, and the kitchen sink.  For the true die-hard traveling player.  It’s also on sale right now.

Last but definitely not least…  Rock Band for Wii Drum Pad Covers.  These pads reduce noise by up to 50%, and are easy to remove and apply.  Get them fast though, they’re ridiculously popular, and have been in and out of stock for a while.

WeKnowWii.com hopes that this helps you.  We’ll be updating as soon as we find new stuff!

New Wii Fit Accessories at Amazon

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

If no one has noticed, or if you haven’t been keeping up with the news, you wouldn’t know that Wii Fit has overcome Rock Band for Wii as the number one seller on Amazon in the video games category.

But that’s not the point of this post.  I found some new accessories for the Wii Fit.

The newest I discovered tonight were the Official Wii Fit Balance Board Sleeve, and the Wii Fit Balance Board Travel Bag, which looks like an over the shoulder daypack-style bag for the Fit.

Here’s the Official Balance Board Sleeve,

and the Balance Board Travel Bag.

Let us know if you purchased one, and if you like it or hate it so we can report!

Wii Fit 5-in-1 Bundle from Dreamgear

Friday, June 20th, 2008

I know we just posted an article about Dreamgear’s 5-in-1 bundle that’s up for pre-order on Amazon, but we figured that it was about time to give some more in-depth information about it – the activity regarding this package was pretty fantastic!

Let’s break this down. The package itself comes with a silicone sleeve for your Wii balance board, three (3) pairs of textured fitness socks, a carrying bag for your balance board, a yoga-style mat to use with the balance board, a battery pack for the board, and a USB cable to charge the pack. For under 60 bucks, this is a heck of a package.

Let’s take a look at all of the pictures:

The whole Dreamgear 5-in-1 Wii Fit Package.

The carrying case – like a gym bag for your balance board.

The battery pack – a pack that fits into the battery slot for the balance board, obviously, along with the USB charge cable for it.

The Jeli Sleeve for the balance board – a silicone protectorate for the accessory.

The balance board mat – like a yoga mat, and for those of you who have hard wood floors like we do, this will be ESSENTIAL!

And finally, the Textured Fitness Socks – we think these are probably catered to be non-slip, or at least slip-resistant.
5-in-1 Bundle Socks

We hope this helps! Amazon has this package on pre-order, so what we recommend is, if you want one, go get it now before it goes the way of all other Wii-related things – sold out, and on back order!

HACK That Wii Fit Balance Board!

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

I read a few articles yesterday on the cool new way to use the Wii Fit Balance Board. Leave it to the Germans to make the balance board able to help users cruise Google Earth and World of Warcraft:

A couple of guys from DFKI (the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence) took a Balance Board and connected it to a regular old laptop PC. A custom C# application communicates with the controller via Bluetooth, translating simple leaning movements on the board into 3D moves on the computer.

Thanks to the cool geeks at Geekology for this news!

GUITAR HERO WORLD TOUR!

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Holy Crap, new Guitar Hero World Tour news! We’re going to see a new guitar controller, and unfortunately, a $179.99 price tag. From Nintendic:

Developer Neversoft and publisher Activision will have wanted to keep a few key details about Guitar Hero World Tour secret, at least until next month’s E3, but it now appears that the cat has been let out of the bag – specifically, details about the fancy new guitar peripheral that is planned to ship with the rhythm/music title.

Leaked information on Guitar Hero World Tour claims that the game will cost $179.99 USD when released, bundled with the guitar, drums, and microphone. As for the brand new guitar, it is said to be touch-sensitive, with a ‘Neck Slide’ that opens up the whole neck of the instrument for unbound solos and extra freedom to improvise whilst rockin’ out.

A few of the artists on the GHWT game: Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Interpol, Muse, and “dozens more” promised.

We’ll see Guitar Hero World Tour on October 27 and October 28 in the US and Europe, respectively.

Problem Solving 101: No Wireless Internet? Check This Out!

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

PC Live Magazine posted an article about a device that gives you the ability to connect your Wii to the Internet, even if you can’t utilize the wireless connectivity and networking abilities of the Wii console. The AirLive EtherWe-1000U Adapter is a plug-and-play adaptor that, once plugged into the USB ports on your Wii console, connects you to the internet – no headaches, no problems. You don’t need a wireless router, and you don’t need anything but an RJ-45 connection into your modem.

NYKO Accessories

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

In lieu of Nyko’s lawsuit with Nintendo over the wireless Kama Nunchuk, we’ve decided to link to a page full of Nyko’s accessories. We highly recommend the Wireless Sensor Bar, for starters. It improved our Wii playing distance by at least fifteen feet.

Check out a full list of holdings at Amazon of the Nyko line of Wii accessories.

This package is being released on July 25 – go pre-order yours now!

Check out the Wii Glo Sword in Scorching Red at Amazon.

The NYKO Sensor Bar for Wii saved the day!

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

A few months ago we made a post about the NYKO Wireless Sensor Bar for the Wii – a wireless, battery powered device that is supposed to boost the wii-mote’s distance from the TV and just be all-around more powerful.

nyco_bar1.JPG

Well, come to find out ALL of these are true, plus a few more pieces of awesomeness!

I have been playing Medal of Honor: Vanguard over the last few days (a review is coming!) and I had been having ridiculous trouble with the action on the screen – the controller would act like it lost signal, bouncing all over the place, making me lose lives, score, et al. While out shopping this evening we decided to get a NYKO Sensor Bar to see if our Wii-issue sensor bar had some issues. When I got home and tried it out, I was astonished with the detail, accuracy, and overall signal strength that we have now with the new sensor bar! Thanks NYKO!

Did I mention, also, that it’s WIRELESS?!

nyco_bar_item_tag1.jpg

Operating the sensor bar is – well, there really is no operation. Hit the button on the right when you want to use it, hold the button down until the blue light power_led1.jpggoes away when you’re done. Since it does use AA batteries (X4) for power, it has a switch on the rear of the bar that gives you a warning every our, two hours, or not at all to remind you to turn it off when you’re done Wii-ing.

switch_nyco1.jpg

I actually left the wired stock-Wii sensor bar plugged in for dual-triangulation-fun. I went into the kitchen (25 feet away) and was able to maneuvre like I was 6 feet from the TV!

Check out the NYKO Wireless Sensor at Amazon – it’s cheap, and WiKnowWii says it’s an awesome addition to your Wii gaming experience.
