WeKnowHow - PriceProtectr: If You Shop Online, Please Visit Them

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Your grateful editors at WeKnowWii.com are always posting a lot of stuff on Amazon because - well, frankly, we LOVE Amazon, and we buy a metric freaking ton of stuff from there, what seems to be weekly. Amazon has this great policy; if you purchase something from them and the price changes in 30 days, you can get a refund on the difference between what you paid and the price drop.

So, for example - if I buy something that costs 30 bucks, and it drops to 29 bucks, I can get a 1 buck refund from Amazon. The great thing is that no matter how many times the price drops, I can go and get another refund, and then another, and then another - as long as the price drops below what you paid for it.

There is a miracle wonder awesome fantastic amazing website called PriceProtectr. The folks at PriceProtectr created a website that, once you enter in the information for the items you bought from Amazon (and The Apple Store, Best Buy, Circuit City, and 118 other online stores), PriceProtectr watches the price of that item for 30 days, and emails you whenever the price changes from what you paid. It also gives you a link to tell Amazon that you’d like your refund, please!  PriceProtectr has saved consumers like you and I over a million bucks, if that helps you click on over to their website.

The best thing about PriceProtectr is that it is so amazingly free, and they don’t bug you when you’re not using their site. How about that for The Power of the Consumer!

Go check out PriceProtectr right away, and start getting some money back when Amazon drops their prices!  They also have an excellent Firefox toolbar Protectr too, so you can protect your purchases with a single click.

Here’s a link to Amazon’s Price Policy, which includes a link to contact Customer Service for your price drop refund.

There has been some rumbling on the ‘Internets about how people want to be able to create a timed workout (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour, etc) with the Wii Fit - it can be a bit cumbersome to menu between items for each workout segment that you want to use. WeKnowWii suggests trying the Favorites function on Wii Fit. It’s by no means ideal, but for the meantime, it can knock out seconds between blocks for a more efficient workout! Give it a try!

If you don’t have your Wi Fit yet, get on over to Amazon and get one!

What are your Wii Sports scores?

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Wii Sports for Nintendo’s Wii calculates your scores after every game you play - if you rock it and continue to improve your game, you’re rewarded with certain little nuances, like a star-studded bowling ball, a silver tennis racket, or silver gloves.  This WeKnowWii editor loves this game, and I play it a lot.  My bowling score is about 1392 and my golf score is around 1400.

What are you scoring on Wii Sports?

We Know How to Sync Extra Wii Remotes

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Wii RemoteIt’s party time and you picked up some extra Wiimotes for the shindig. How do you connect them to your system? Easy.

  1. Turn on your Wii.
  2. While you’re on the home screen, press any button on the remote. Did the four lights on your remote blink blue? If so, your remote is not synced with the system.
  3. Press the 1 + 2 buttons at the same time. If you’ve synced before, this should solve your problem.
  4. Lights still blinking blue? Open the small panel on the front of the Wii console near the power button.
  5. Press the small red button inside the panel.
  6. Open the battery panel on your remote.
  7. Press the small red button inside the battery panel.
  8. Only one light should be illuminated on your Wii remote. If not, repeat steps 5 and 7 until only one light remains.
