Alone in the Dark – Game Trailer

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

WOW. Have you seen this game trailer?

The reviews on Alone In The Dark are kind of not impressive as far as Amazon reviewers go, but if you’ve played it and have something to say, please post a comment. We are a big fan of your comments.  This game is also one of those games that is on sale for 5+ bucks off.

Rock Band Wii Special Edition in Amazon Top 5

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Punchjump is reporting that Rock band Wii was in the top five in Amazon charts this week.  Not too surprising, seeing as that the cost is about thirty bucks cheaper than the MSRP.  Gas is averaging over FOUR BUCKS a gallon right now – when people wanna rock, they want to do it at home, after it’s been brought to them.

Rock Band Wii Special Edition at Amazon – as of July 4, it’s $139.99.

Some Expensive Titles Five Bucks Off

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Wow, the title of this article sucks, doesn’t it.

However, it looks like there are a bunch of titles at Amazon that are on sale right now, with a minimum of $5 off, some more, some less.

Titles I’ve found so far, as of July 4:

Resident Evil:  The Umbrella Chronicles, $42.99, normally $49.99
Lego Indiana Jones, $42.99, normally $49.99
Super Mario Galaxy, $44.99, normally $49.99
Super Smash bros. Brawl, $42.99, normally $49.99
Wii Sports with Wiimote, $42.99, normally $44.99
Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party Bundle, $62.99, normally $69.99
Mario Party 8, $44.99, normally $49.99
Endless Ocean, $26.99, normally $29.99
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, $42.99, normally $49.99
Pinball Hall of Fame, $19.99, normally $29.99

There are a bunch more, just go search the Wii Store.  I didn’t intentionally make that rhyme.  The worst price decrease I found, to make sure a title gets a mention, was Open Season – $19.79 down from a whopping $19.99.

Happy Fourth of July, Everyone!

Nintendo Games on Amazon’s Friday Gold Box Deals

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

Apparently for the FIRST TIME EVER, Amazon is going to have a bunch of game deals in their Friday Gold Box Deals!  If you haven’t done this or tried it, Gold Box deals are pretty cool – just random deals based on a category or topic, and they’re usually pretty good.  We missed a deal a few months ago on an $800 elliptical trainer for $200 bucks off of the retail price.  I’m sure you can imagine how hard we kicked ourselves.

Here’s how it will work:

  • At 12:01 AM PST the first deal will be the Gold Box Deal of the Day. Its special discounted price will be available all day only on Friday, June 27 (or until Amazon run out.)
  • Starting at 6:00 AM PST, the second deal will be featured as a Lightning Deal. This special price will be available for the following two hours.
  • Each of the seven remaining deals will also be Lightning Deals. Starting every two hours that follow at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM, and 6:00 PM PST, and 8:00 PM each deal will be available for two hours after it begins.
  • Discounts on each deal will be available only while supplies last.

They mean it too – if it’s gone, it’s gone, and you’ve missed out.

Remember – this starts at MIDNIGHT on Friday, so that means in about eleven hours.  We’re looking forward to seeing what kind of games we’re gonna be able to snag!

Check it out for yourselves!  Amazon Gold Box Deals for Nintendo Games.

Thursday, June 19th, 2008

NYKO Accessories

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

In lieu of Nyko’s lawsuit with Nintendo over the wireless Kama Nunchuk, we’ve decided to link to a page full of Nyko’s accessories. We highly recommend the Wireless Sensor Bar, for starters. It improved our Wii playing distance by at least fifteen feet.

Check out a full list of holdings at Amazon of the Nyko line of Wii accessories.

The NYKO Sensor Bar for Wii saved the day!

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

A few months ago we made a post about the NYKO Wireless Sensor Bar for the Wii – a wireless, battery powered device that is supposed to boost the wii-mote’s distance from the TV and just be all-around more powerful.

nyco_bar1.JPG

Well, come to find out ALL of these are true, plus a few more pieces of awesomeness!

I have been playing Medal of Honor: Vanguard over the last few days (a review is coming!) and I had been having ridiculous trouble with the action on the screen – the controller would act like it lost signal, bouncing all over the place, making me lose lives, score, et al. While out shopping this evening we decided to get a NYKO Sensor Bar to see if our Wii-issue sensor bar had some issues. When I got home and tried it out, I was astonished with the detail, accuracy, and overall signal strength that we have now with the new sensor bar! Thanks NYKO!

Did I mention, also, that it’s WIRELESS?!

Operating the sensor bar is – well, there really is no operation. Hit the button on the right when you want to use it, hold the button down until the blue light power_led1.jpggoes away when you’re done. Since it does use AA batteries (X4) for power, it has a switch on the rear of the bar that gives you a warning every our, two hours, or not at all to remind you to turn it off when you’re done Wii-ing.

I actually left the wired stock-Wii sensor bar plugged in for dual-triangulation-fun. I went into the kitchen (25 feet away) and was able to maneuvre like I was 6 feet from the TV!

Check out the NYKO Wireless Sensor at Amazon – it’s cheap, and WiKnowWii says it’s an awesome addition to your Wii gaming experience.
