Coooking Mama Responds to PETA Complaints

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

After PETA complaints about recipes featured in a Cooking Mama flash game, the Mama has responded:

“I would never put rat in my Ratatouille,” said a feisty Mama while beating some eggs. “Like any accomplished cook, I create my recipes to appeal to a broad range of tastes and preferences. My only goal is to ensure you leave the table well fed.”

Cooking Mama World Kitchen released this week, and features 25 vegetarian-friendly recipes.

Order Up! Pre-Order

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Amazon has Order Up! for $39.99 on pre-order, from Supervillain Studios and Zoo Games.  This game is of the same virtual grill sense as Cooking Mama, with a bit more involved story and skills.  You get to hire sous chefs!

IGN has a great article on this game, check it out:

You begin the game as the chef and owner of the new local dive, the Gravy Chug. The game features a stylized cel-shaded look meant to emphasize the silly, exaggerated character designs and cartoonish graphics. Although a weathered waitress (who looks like she’s been smoking since she was nine years-old) takes orders from mongoloid-like customers (from rednecks to brain dead teenagers), the gameplay action transpires almost entirely in the kitchen quarters, where you will be required to speedily prepare and assemble meals. Customers come in, you send the waitress over to take their orders and then you’re off in a race to get their food out as speedily as possible without sacrificing quality.
