SPORTS - The Wide World of Sports Mini-Games on Wii

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

We have a large variety of sports games to choose from on the Wii console - sports mini games seem to be dominating the “party games” category of Wii releases, with titles like Deca Sports, Summer Sports Paradise, and Big Beach Sports already out.  Let’s not forget Wii Sports, the all-famous, all-included game that ships with Wii.

Ubisoft has a game coming out - Sports Party, as does Konami, with Indoor Sports being released around Christmas of 2008.  Conspiracy Games has Summer Athletics:  The Ultimate Challenge coming out as well, late in July.

What do YOU want to see for Wii?  Let’s keep it to sports titles, and post in the comments.  We personally would love to see another snowboarding title, maybe some Olympic-themed games.  What do you want to play?

Tom Clancy’s HAWX for Wii?

Friday, June 13th, 2008

The good peeps over at Nintendic posted an article about a possible release by Ubisoft of Tom Clancy’s “HAWX” for Wii!  Now THAT is something that we would want to play!

From the article at Nintendic:

“Tom Clancy’s HAWX marks the next evolution of high altitude warfare in the Tom Clancy video game universe,” said John Parkes, EMEA Marketing Director at Ubisoft at the game’s announcement for rival machines in April. “We are thrilled to take to the skies and provide a new environment along with an extension of a familiar storyline from our other successful Tom Clancy franchises such as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.”

Excellent!  Gamefly and Gamespot both have placeholders on their websites for this game!

Ubisoft is Planning A Prince of Persia Spinoff

Friday, May 30th, 2008

According to a Wired post (from a post at the boards at NeoGAF), Ubisoft is planning a Prince of Persia spinoff game.  Everyone is assuming that the E3 Conference in July will bring about Ubisoft’s news about this and other games.

Translated from the French site LiveWii:

From the mouth of our venerated Melkor (which was present at Ubidays), news which should at least alleviate the spirits towards the French firm: not, our to defer n’ did not dégoté phone number Raymond the Jade, but it returned with the confirmation d’ prince off Persia specific to Wii. Announced like a spin-off of l’ opus currently developed on the platforms next-gen, little d’ information filtered as for its contents. One can already bet an artistic director directed towards a particular use of Wiimote and Nunchuk as it was the case with the bearing of Swords Rival. Perhaps we will have more details at the time of l’ E3 in July as for the true contents of the play.

I’m sure that the awesome translation you just read said, in a nutshell, that they heard that Prince of Persia will be off-spun by Ubisoft.  Oh, and it’ll use the nunchuck and Wii-mote too.
