A pre-release trailer from Gametrailers.com:

What do you think?  I just hope that Jillian doesn’t yell at me too much, because I feel ridiculous telling her to shut up through the plasma.  Just kidding, Jillian, don’t kick my butt!

New Wii Fit Accessories at Amazon

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

If no one has noticed, or if you haven’t been keeping up with the news, you wouldn’t know that Wii Fit has overcome Rock Band for Wii as the number one seller on Amazon in the video games category.

But that’s not the point of this post.  I found some new accessories for the Wii Fit.

The newest I discovered tonight were the Official Wii Fit Balance Board Sleeve, and the Wii Fit Balance Board Travel Bag, which looks like an over the shoulder daypack-style bag for the Fit.

Here’s the Official Balance Board Sleeve,

and the Balance Board Travel Bag.

Let us know if you purchased one, and if you like it or hate it so we can report!

Wii Fit 5-in-1 Bundle from Dreamgear

Friday, June 20th, 2008

I know we just posted an article about Dreamgear’s 5-in-1 bundle that’s up for pre-order on Amazon, but we figured that it was about time to give some more in-depth information about it - the activity regarding this package was pretty fantastic!

Let’s break this down. The package itself comes with a silicone sleeve for your Wii balance board, three (3) pairs of textured fitness socks, a carrying bag for your balance board, a yoga-style mat to use with the balance board, a battery pack for the board, and a USB cable to charge the pack. For under 60 bucks, this is a heck of a package.

Let’s take a look at all of the pictures:

The whole Dreamgear 5-in-1 Wii Fit Package.

The carrying case - like a gym bag for your balance board.

The battery pack - a pack that fits into the battery slot for the balance board, obviously, along with the USB charge cable for it.

The Jeli Sleeve for the balance board - a silicone protectorate for the accessory.

The balance board mat - like a yoga mat, and for those of you who have hard wood floors like we do, this will be ESSENTIAL!

And finally, the Textured Fitness Socks - we think these are probably catered to be non-slip, or at least slip-resistant.

We hope this helps! Amazon has this package on pre-order, so what we recommend is, if you want one, go get it now before it goes the way of all other Wii-related things - sold out, and on back order!

Not Safe for Work? Playboy tries to outdo the Original Wii Fit Girl

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Apparently Playboy is trying to outdo the original Wii Fit Girl with their model, Jo Garcia, doing her gyrating and hoola-hooping to Wii Fit games.  Quite frankly, I feel that the original Wii Fit girl had better hip moves.  From the article:

When Wii Fit Girl did her 3 million hits thang, somehow I knew this was coming down the pike. Because Playboy is the home of Jo Garcia, the Cyber Girl of the Year for 2008 and an enthusiastic and knowledgeable gamer herself. And not only does she have noooo problem wearing much less than naughty librarian glasses and panties, Playboy also has muuuuuch better video equipment and editing.

You have to read some of the comments in the Kotaku article - my favorite:
failed. original wii fit girl was hypnotizing.

I guess this goes to show that a lot of industries can get in on the Wii Cash Machine - accessories makers, game makers, and now, porn makers.  Hmmph.  Have you got YOUR Wii Fit yet?
Happy Monday!

Wii Fit Supplies Choked, even over at Nintendo’s Store

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

The good folks at Wired just posted a great article about Wii Fit’s supply - and how it is nearly magical to obtain one lately!  Keep an eye out for these if you haven’t gotten yours yet; right now, they’re going like gold, and for good reason.  They’re excellent!  People have their gripes about them - as do the editors here at WeKnowWii.com, but overall, it’s a fun accessory, and the game is a blast.

Get your Wii Fit over at Amazon - if they don’t have it, keep checking!

Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009 for Wii

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

It looks like we’re going to see some more Wii games type games soon - which will be great once we wear out Wii Fit and the snowboarding titles that are coming out.  Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009, from Majesco.  From the good folks at Eurogamer:

Dubbed Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009, this is another one all about being fit not fat, headed by US exercise star Jillian Michaels, unsurprisingly.

She’s a tough-talking martial arts expert who headed a US game show that challenged contestants to lose as much weight as they could. One lucky contestant dropped a massive 37 per cent to win USD 250,000.

“I truly think this type of product will be instrumental in revolutionizing the fitness industry and will help combat the childhood obesity epidemic in this country,” Michaels told Reuters.

Well, we’re down for Wii Fit games - look for a review once it comes out!

Have you purchased your Wii Fit and balance board yet?

Shaun White’s Snowboarding for Wii - USING THE WII BALANCE BOARD!

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Slashdot posted some information on a new game that Ubisoft will be releasing - a snowboarding game called “Shaun White’s Snowboarding” that uses the beloved Wii Balance Board and the Wiimote as the control media.

“During Ubidays 2008, Ubisoft revealed that its upcoming snowboarding title, Shaun White Snowboarding, will be coming to Nintendo Wii. More exciting, the publisher revealed that the game will support Nintendo’s Wii Balance Board. Although members of the press were not allowed to play the game at the event, an Ubisoft representative was on hand to demo the setup. The game is played with both the Balance Board and Wii-mote, using the latter to control tricks.”

We’re pretty big fans of the SSX Series of games here at WeKnowWii.com, so you can imagine our excitement!
We haven’t been able to get our hands on Wii Ski yet that also uses the Wii Balance Board, but we’re waiting to rock the slopes in our living room!

Go order Wii Fit and the Balance Board if you haven’t already - it’s even healthy!

Wii Fit Workouts - try using your Favorites function!

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

wiifit_logo.jpg

There has been some rumbling on the ‘Internets about how people want to be able to create a timed workout (30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour, etc) with the Wii Fit - it can be a bit cumbersome to menu between items for each workout segment that you want to use. WeKnowWii suggests trying the Favorites function on Wii Fit. It’s by no means ideal, but for the meantime, it can knock out seconds between blocks for a more efficient workout! Give it a try!

If you don’t have your Wi Fit yet, get on over to Amazon and get one!

Wii Fit sells a million units!

Monday, January 14th, 2008

Since the release of Wii Fit in Japan in December, over a million unit sales have been recorded. Due to this rapid sales stint in Japan, Wii Fit has proven to be one of the fastest selling games in this new generation of games and consoles.

Wii Fit is a first-of-its-kind type of game, with the main attraction being a balance-board type device that acts as the primary controller. The Wii Fit Balance Board controller is designed to determine your weight and center of gravity, and acts as the liaison between the Wii and a real workout.

There has been no concrete release date for the United States yet for Wii Fit; as soon as we know, you’ll know. You can sign up on Amazon to be notified of Wii Fit’s release and availability.
